About

Windz Centre

Windz Centre is operated by Karen Young and is a home for brief and narrative therapy training, consultation and supervision. We offer introductory, intermediate and advanced education in narrative ideas and practices that fit within brief or longer-term service environments. At Windz Centre we teach innovations in the use of 'brief narrative practices' for walk-in therapy and single sessions and publish regarding these ideas. Our workshops are inclusive of approaches to therapy that are non-pathologizing, collaborative and competency focused.

Windz workshops, certificate programs, consultation and supervision services reflect narrative and postmodern principles such as respect, collaboration, and the assumption that everyone's life is multistoried - that people come to training, and to therapy - with knowledge, skills, preferences and values. We are committed to every Windz experience being a journey that both gathers forward what you have with you, and moves you into inspiring and exciting new territories!

Windz Centre has provided training to hundreds of organizations and thousands of clinicians. 'Brief narrative' practices are one of the most widely utilized approaches in walk-in therapy clinics, particularly in Ontario where there are an enormous number of operating clinics. The majority of the walk-in's in Ontario have received training from the Windz Centre. This training has helped to shape these services according to a "when all the time you have is now" philosophy that creates immediately meaningful and useful therapeutic encounters.
